Shadow Warrior 2 sequel is now here and from today is available on Steam. The game is a first-person shooter developed by the indie studio Flying Wild Hog and is currently only available for PC. #3 Shadow Warrior 2 Not Starting
This is the most common error that players are complaining about. They click Play in the Steam Library and nothing happens, the game simply won’t start. Restart PC, Windows will be updating. After that, the game can be launched.
Simple way of verifying if the Media Feature Pack installed correctly is to use the search in Task Bar and type ‘windows media player’. If it’s found, the Media Feature Pack installed correctly.
Details of what I did:
– First I installed ‘Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 10’ KB3010081 and restarted PC. There was no Windows updating screen and game didn’t launch but later I noticed that even though the update was listed as installed, there was no Windows Media Player for instance, nor ability to remove the update.
– Then I installed ‘Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 10’ KB3099229 but for whatever reason it just installed the previous one (KB3010081) again with no effect and no Windows updating screen.
– Finally found out that when having anniversary update, one should install the ‘Media Feature Pack for N and KN versions of Windows 10’ KB3133719. Installed it, restarted PC, Windows updating screen showed up and now I can find the Windows Media Player. The game works now.
My personal comment to this issue – I don’t like the fact that I had to install this media feature pack in order to run the game. I had my reasons to get the N version of Windows and not a regular one.
- DX device not found on notebooks:
Can someone help me please. Anyone else having the same problem? My system is windows 8, when I starts the game it just have the pop up says “DX11 Device not Found” Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
To fix this issue go to C:Users*Saved GamesFlying Wild HogShadow Warrior 2profilessteam_*/config.cfg, here find line: r_fullscreen_monitor 0 and change it to (or add it if it’s not there): r_fullscreen_monitor 1.
